Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does it take before we receive the finished job?
A. We usually print the day after the proof is approved, so it is possible for you to receive the product within 2 days of proof approval. If it is super urgent there may be an occasion where we can slot it in and print within the hour! You need to ring us to confirm this though.
Q. If you do the artwork how do I ensure it is OK before getting printed?
A. We will send a proof to you via email. If you don't have an email we can send a proof (costs apply), or you can view a proof at our premises.
Q. How can you print so quickly?
A. We are set up differently to regular printers with regard to our equipment and do our printing in house. We can also organise our work after normal hours in order to get jobs out on time.
Q. What is your quality like?
A. Excellent, we have the latest in high resolution digital equipment, we use quality stock and have new and accurate cutting equipment.
Q. How do I supply text for my job?
A. Send via email, or put on disc and deliver to us.
Q. What thickness of the paper do you print on?
A. Anything from 80gsm to 300 gsm. Refer to our Print & Copy page.
Q. What products do you print?
A. refer to our home page, we have a list there
Q. Do you do the artwork for the print?
A. Yes we do the artwork. However you can also choose to do your own artwork: - However it is important to check Submitting Artwork before supplying a layout
Q. What is Bleed and what should I do about it?
A. Bleed is the graphics area that is cut off when trimmed. Refer to our Submitting Artwork page. It should be a minimum 3 mm outside the trim. We also recommend at least a 2 mm, preferably a 3 mm position of all text or other lines or graphics inside the trim area.
Q. How should I supply the artwork?
A. Email or on CD or DVD is fine. A hard copy can also be supplied to us but if you require full bleed then the bleed needs to be included on the original you supply (if it is not included your print will end up with a white border). Refer Submitting Artwork page
Q. How should I supply photos?
A. They should be emailed or placed on CD or DVD. Before supplying ensure the photo is at 300 dpi and at 100% of the finished size. Convert to CMYK, if you are not sure about this don't worry we will convert it for you. Ensure any photos you supply are not changed in any way with regard to colours or brightness, we will make any necessary changes to suit the print. The only time you should adjust photos is when submitting a "Print Ready" document, and in this case we will leave the way you have supplied it.
Q. Can you do folding?
A. Yes! However 150 gsm or less should only be folded. For heavier weights we can do creasing which is similar to scoring, but does not damage the surface. However creasing can only be done on small volumes of less than 200.
Q. What sort of folding can you do?
A. Single fold (in half), Double fold (folded in half then folded again), Irregular Accordion (a Z fold with one section longer than the rest), Letter fold (typically an A4 folded inwards to a DL size), Accordion (or Z fold), Brochure fold (or gate in the middle fold).
